**Job Title**: Community Fundraising Officer
**Location**:Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
**Contract**: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, including some weekends and evenings)
**Salary**:£23,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience
**Reports to**: Fundraising and Marketing Manager
**Purpose of the Role**:
The Community Fundraising Officer will play a key role in developing and implementing a dynamic and multi-disciplinary fundraising strategy, which includes events, corporate and community fundraising, regular giving, retail, trusts and foundations, and volunteer management. This role offers the opportunity for professional development and contribution to diverse fundraising initiatives that save lives across the North East.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Fundraising Strategy**:
- Collaborate with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager to co-ordinate and deliver a fundraising plan.
- Focus on building long-term donor relationships and maximising income across multiple areas of the fundraising mix.
**Event Management**:
- Lead the planning and execution of external fundraising events and shelter-based events.
- Support and advise on third-party events, including risk assessments, legal considerations and other general guidance and support.
**Corporate and Community Fundraising**:
- Develop and manage relationships with corporate partners, tailoring support to their business and CSR objectives.
- Engage with community groups, schools, and other local entities to build support and awareness.
**Regular Giving and Trusts**:
- Support the delivery of Regular Giving campaigns
**Retail Support**:
- Collaborate with Retail Area Managers and Shop Managers to enhance income generation through retail initiatives.
**Volunteer Management**:
- Recruit, develop, and manage a network of fundraising volunteers.
- Provide guidance and recognition to volunteers.
**Communications and Marketing**:
- Work with the Communications & Marketing team to effectively promote fundraising events and initiatives across paid, earned, shared and owned channels.
- Create marketing materials and social media content to support fundraising campaigns.
**Administrative, Reporting and Professional Development**:
- Maintain up-to-date records and information on fundraising activities.
- Compile reports and make recommendations for income growth and donor relationship development.
- Undertake any training/development opportunities in order to fulfil the requirements of the post
- Any other duties which arise during the course of your employment or as deemed necessary by senior management for the development and success of the shelter.
**Personal Qualities and Skills**:
- Passionate about animal welfare and the mission of Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Creative and be proactive in identifying and exploiting fundraising opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and attend events as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in IT and social media platforms.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
**Education and Experience**:
- Experience in a fundraising role, preferably within a charity or non-profit organization.
- Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets and developing donor relationships.
- Experience in event management, corporate engagement, or community outreach is desirable.
