We are supporting our client in their search for a highly-skilled and experienced Head Sommelier to join an award winning and prestigious hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is run by one of the most established and decorated chefs in the country with a cellar of carefully selected wines.

**The Role**

As the Head Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an exceptional wine program that complements our philosophy of enjoyable and interactive for our guests. Your expertise in wine selection, staff training and exceptional guest service will contribute in providing our guests a memorable dining experience that they have become accustomed to with our restaurant.

**The main duties of the role include**:

- Develop and maintain an outstanding wine program that aligns with our concepts and standards
- Source and select high-quality wines to offer a unique and enticing experience
- Manage wine inventory, including ensuring proper storage conditions and stock rotation
- Work alongside culinary team to create innovative and harmonious wine pairings
- Provide expert guidance and personalised wine recommendations to guests
- Lead and mentor a team of sommeliers and wine service staff to deliver excellent and professional service
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and advise on wine selection with deep knowledge

**Requirements**:

- An exceptional knowledge and understanding of wines
- Experience as a Head Sommelier in a Michelin starred environment
- Proven expertise in curating exceptional wine programs and managing wine cellars
- A genuine passion for wine and ability to create innovative and harmonious pairings
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to engage with guests and provide personalised wine recommendations
- Be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of wine characteristics, profiles and food pairing principles
- Relevant wine certificates are advantageous
- Must have the right to work in the UK
