**JOB TITLE: Early Morning Cleaner**

**LOCATION: Forge Shopping Centre**

**SHIFT PATTERN: 5 days over 7 on a rolling rota.**

**WORKING HOURS: 17.5 hours per week**

**PAY RATE: £10.56 per hour**

**Purpose of the Job**:
Under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisors undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of designated areas, in accordance with the cleaning specification to ensure that they are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Undertake the full range of cleaning duties required, such as cleaning, washing, mopping, polishing, vacuuming and using, as directed on site induction or by your Supervisor.
- Empty waste bins and replace refuse sacks where necessary, and remove transport rubbish to appropriate collection points.
- Dust control mopping where necessary.
- Vacuum all hard surfaces and carpets paying particular attention to corners, edges and under furniture, using the floor nozzle as necessary.
- Damp/spot mopping ensuring ‘wet floor’ signage is used to prevent accidents.
- Clean the mall floor using scrubber dryer ,ensure you operate the machinery as per training instructions.
- Vacuum all door and barrier mats to remove dirt and soil.
- Matwell cleaning - remove mat from well, remove all dust, dirt and debris from matwell using brush and shovel.
- Dust/damp-wipe and polish furniture as per cleaning specifications.
- Spot clean walls and doors where necessary using approved neutral detergent or cleaner appropriate to surface material.
- Spot clean glass and panels where necessary.
- Clean mall toilets as per cleaning specification, place ‘cleaning in progress’ signs at entrance doors.
- Lift cleaning - ensure lift is isolated and cannot be called to other floors.
- Ensure the cleaning cupboard is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is looked after and maintained as directed by your Supervisor. Keep equipment clean and tidy (ensure this is done at the end of each shift), and tag faulty equipment not to be used.
- Undertake your duties in such a way as causes no hazards to staff or visitors.
- Report any on site defects to a Cleaning Supervisor or if unavailable the Security control room.
- Comply with all relevant instructions regarding the safe use and storage of cleaning equipment and materials.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed.
- Ensure edges and ledges (including skirtings, corners kick plates, behind doors etc) are all cleaned to an acceptable standard.
- Cover the duties, and hours, off other cleaning staff such as holiday or sickness as required.
- Attend training courses as required.
- Carry out any reasonable request given by your Site Supervisor/Manager, or the Centre Manager.
- All employees are expected to act wholeheartedly in the interests of the Company at all times.
- Always maintain a high level of customer service towards, clients, colleagues, suppliers and the general public.
- Always ensure you are smart, clean, shaven and punctual when reporting for work.
- When reporting for duty and finishing shift you are required to clock in and out using the Biometric System.
