Schedule: 3 days per week

Purpose of the role
Reporting to Management Accountant, as our Payroll Assistant you will be responsible for providing efficient support in payroll activities, ensuring our employees are paid correctly and on time. You will work as part of a larger Finance Team responsible for the expenditure of the business.
This is a role which is integral to the team to deliver payroll for several subsidiaries.
Role Requirements
- Proactively collect accurate payroll data and raising any anomalies with team leads in readiness for payroll processing dates.
- Working with other departments to ensure any changes are processed correctly, taking ownership of the approvals when required.
- Submission of payment authorisation or payment file to meet payroll deadlines.
- Submission of bi-weekly, monthly payrolls.
- Support with monthly and end of year reporting requirements.
- Work with the finance team with reporting tasks and audit/compliance related activity.
- Be a point of contact for Management with employee queries on behalf of colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the HR Team on staff changes, including but not limited to new joiners, leavers and rehires.
- General administration duties to support the wider Finance Team.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies with payroll records.
- Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes and for managerial review.
- The successful Payroll Assistant will join an efficient team where career development is encouraged. We are looking for a diligent and exceptionally organised individual who enjoys being part of a consistent offering.
- The right person will be able to hit the ground running with their experience in payroll processes and hold a good understanding of current pay and payroll law. Experience with SAGE 50 payroll would be advantageous.
- They will be confident using excel at intermediate level and have worked in a payroll role previously, striving to get things right first time and working to tight deadlines.
