They are experiencing a period of exponential growth and are seeking a Lead Consultant in Ecology to join their environmental team.

You will have a variety of responsibilities across the entire lifecycle of a project. As a small team anticipating rapid growth, you will have the opportunity to develop and lead your own team of specialists. The company will offer their full support to enable you to develop you and your team's capability and experience across multiple sectors. You will have the autonomy to delve into your passions and interests across a wide-ranging project and client base.

**The role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Leading business development: identifying, pursuing and securing further opportunities for work that will deliver substantial client and community benefits
- Portfolio management of projects requiring the preparation of environmental reports for biodiversity assessments, EIA, and planning studies
- Leading technical project delivery of biodiversity values and constraints assessments, impact and offset assessments and monitoring and management services related to project approvals and natural area management
- Developing and maintaining client relationships through collaboration, advising on environmental and regulatory challenges
- Pursuing opportunities to improve your technical and non-technical skills, as well as those of the future team you could build and develop

**About you**

Demonstratable senior consulting experience in the following:

- 5+ years experience in ecology consulting, ecology appraisals, EIAs, and HRAs
- Project experience in a range of sectors and leading project team members in the delivery of project and client outcomes
- Thorough understanding of UK and EU regulatory frameworks and policy with respect to ecology and the associated environmental approvals
- An established leader with strong interpersonal skills who can mentor other team members
- Delivery of high quality and technically robust project outcomes within set timescales and budget
