**Your Role**

The overall purpose of this role is the management of all complex litigation cases which cannot follow the standard litigation process. These include, but are not limited to; defended possession claims, defended sole deceased claims, allegations of fraud,defended term expired claims, title problems and lease forfeiture.

The main aim is to resolve the issue as quickly as possible whilst balancing the costs of doing so. Other factors which may impact on reaching a solution may be customer vulnerability, media threats and MP involvement. All approaches need to maintain compliancewithin the legal and regulatory framework.

Another element of the role involves identifying and making of Title Insurance and Professional Negligence claims and where necessary managing throughout the process to conclusion.

This is a demanding technical role requiring a wide range of knowledge and experience in the mortgage industry. Detailed knowledge of the litigation process is essential. A significant element of the role involves detailed investigation into accounts andawareness of all areas of servicing to enable all the relevant information to be pulled together.

Problem solving skills are essential as is the ability to think beyond normal parameters in order to find solutions

**Your Responsibilities**
- Take decisions and make recommendations within agreed mandates to protect the company and its clients' reputation and minimise risk at all times.
- Complete and sign documents on behalf of lenders during court proceedings.
- Representing, when required, the group companies, affiliates and/or its clients at Court in the capacity of an expert witness.
- Ensure that comprehensive chronological case notes are maintained for all cases under administration, together with an accurate and current update of legal costs incurred.
- Arrange, manage and document quarterly performance reviews with all external service providers ensuring that all meetings are comprehensively minuted.
- Develop and implements processes to ensure that all options are considered when making decisions within mandates or referrals to clients and/or senior management.
- Ensure that all SLAs are clearly defined and performance is monitored against these on a daily and monthly basis.
- Review and update processes ensuring that full controls are in place and that Complex issues are picked up and referred appropriately.
- Control and monitor all costs on managed accounts and that all 'Off-Tariff' requests are submitted and authorised in line with delegated mandates.
- Ensure that adequate controls and escalation processes are in place to control all risk events especially reputational risks.
- Development and the production of monthly MI.

**Your Skills & Experience**
- Confident, self-motivated individual with good communication skills
- Full knowledge of Collections and Litigation processes
- Ability to conduct detailed investigations and methodically identify pertinent facts
- Good knowledge of Excel as detailed financial reconstruction of accounts may be required
