About the role

We're looking to recruit a Policy Advice and Research Officer to join the Healthcare Delivery team, within our Communications and Policy directorate. This department is responsible for ensuring the BMA maintains a strong, influential position in the eyes of stakeholders, the Government, media and doctors.

**This role is a fixed term contract for 6 months.**

The Policy Advice and Research Officer will support the delivery of key projects within the team, supporting their line manager and Senior Policy Advisers by undertaking research and analysis on a variety of policy issues. They will provide policy advice, help to develop policy recommendations and draft written reports.

To be successful as a Policy Advice and Research Officer you’ll ideally have:

- Previous experience of working in a policy environment
- Proven ability to work with data and an ability to conduct research and analysis
- Good working knowledge and proficiency with MS Excel
- Excellent written skills with experience of drafting policy reports and briefings
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and convey information in a succinct way
- Good analytical skills and an eye for detail
- An understanding of health policy issues would be desirable
