Overview of the role
**A Trainee Pharmacy Assistant role with a difference**

We have a full time (37.5 hours) opportunity to join our team that is growing.

**What you’ll do**

Supporting the Care Home Co-ordinators, you'll arrange and co-ordinate the supply of monthly medication required by our care home residents. You'll also work with the Digital Pharmacy Team to ensure interim medication is directed through the most appropriate route of fulfilment through to maintaining essential records and professional standards, ensuring all patient safety standards are met.

From completing daily administration tasks that allow our Care Home Co-ordinators to focus on managing relationships between the care homes, pharmacies and surgeries, through to working closely with the Digital Pharmacy team, you'll ensure the efficient, accurate and safe delivery of prescribed items to our care homes.

Our digital pharmacy has the second largest number of patients in the UK nominated to a single pharmacy, distributing circa 130,000 items every month currently and this is growing

Main Responsibilities
**What you'll do**:

- Cross referencing prescriptions we receive from surgeries with what the care home are expecting.
- Following up with surgeries to resolve missing prescriptions
- Maintain care home and patient records with any changes, additions and important information
- Direct urgent interim items through the most appropriate route of fulfilment
- Work with surgeries where an item has ongoing supply issues
- Support Care Home Co-ordinators in providing MARs either in paper or electronic form for all items supplied to a care home
- Raising IT issues and working with the team to resolve
- Raising patient safety or professional concerns with the responsible pharmacist
- Support in setting up new patients on the PMR and back office systems and setting a nomination to start prescriptions coming to well.co.uk.
- Ordering consumables requested by care homes and dispatching them out
- Marking prescriptions as ready to claim after dispatch
- Following up owed items, resolving issues and dispatching items when available
- **What you’ll need**:

- Computer literate
- Ability to communicate at different levels, such as members of the public or professional bodies
- Pleasant, polite and professional telephone manner
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Accuracy and ability to follow instructions
- Organised and able to prioritise work
- Awareness of impact on customers if orders aren’t received and delivered on time and in full
