- Job Purpose
- The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is responsible for all nuclear sector regulation across the UK. The Communications Administration Officer is a key member of the Policy and Communications Directorate, providing administrative support to a busy communications team. Reporting to a Senior Communications Manager, you will also work closely with the Head of Communications and Deputy Head of Communications, supporting the effective provision of high-quality services on behalf of ONR.**Job description**:

- Principal responsibilities- administrative support to include planning, inbox management, diary management, meeting preparation, copy writing, statistical analysis and evaluation, report presentation
- manage the Communications Inbox and digital filing systems, and support the management of the “Contact ONR” general mailbox as required
- support with planning, scheduling, commissioning and publishing of communications activities, products and services
- production of communication materials as required (including information gathering, writing, proof-reading and editing copy) for internal and external communications and publications
- support with implementing and evaluating communication campaigns on behalf of specific teams
- manage the distribution of corporate publications
- audit the effectiveness of communications activities, monitoring trends and assessing what other regulators do to further improve our service
- contribute to the development, on-going maintenance and performance of the website and the staff intranet site
- contribute to the development and performance of ONR’s social media channels including content development and analytics
- support the management of the organisation’s brand and identity, by ensuring the style guide is adhered to
- assist with any other tasks and projects specified by the Head of Communications and Deputy Head of Communications

**Responsibilities**:

- Essential skills / job related experience- experience of having worked in a PR, communications or marketing team
- evidence of supporting communications projects, campaigns, publications and events including evaluation and reporting
- experience of using digital corporate communication and engagement channels
- excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate complex information into creative and engaging copy
- excellent research skills
- digital content management skills (including website, intranet, social media)
- highly organised, skilled at prioritising tasks, working under pressure and using own initiative
- self-motivated, proactive, flexible, adaptable and able to manage own workload

Essential qualificationsDesirable attributes- recent experience in a similar role in a large, complex organisation (ideally public sector)
