Café Bar Team Member/Wedding & Events Team Member

Reports to: Operations Manager

Role Summary: To deliver the very best standards of customer service and presentation for our guests at all times in all areas of the hotel. To be driven & focused in achieving the business vision.

Role Responsibilities:
▪ Promote a positive, helpful service to guests, colleagues, and other departments at all times.

▪ Ensure all guests get a warm welcome and deliver exceptional service.

▪ To have service at the heart of everything you do.

▪ To be able to open the Café Bar/Chestnut Room/Marquee to the required standard.

▪ To be able to close the Café Bar/Chestnut Room/Marquee to the required standard.

▪ To answer the phone in a positive manner and help the guest with their enquiry. If applicable take a message and pass on to the relevant person.

▪ To be able to take orders in line with current procedures and to accurately identify and record and dietary needs or allergies.

▪ To be able to prepare dishes in the Merrychef to the correct specification.

▪ To be able to plate up dishes from the hot fridge to the correct specification.

▪ To be able to use all equipment in the correct manner and serve products to the correct specification.

▪ To be aware of the guest needs at all times, checking back on tables to ensure our guests are happy.

▪ To have a good knowledge of the different types of accommodation we have, including room features and facilities.

▪ Check Guests in and out in a friendly and informative manner whilst delivering a professional and genuine service.

▪ Ensure all key card wallets are pre-made for the day and physical keys are returned upon check-out.

▪ Address and resolve any complaints within capability and if unable to resolve, ensure they are escalated whilst being reported to the relevant supervisor/manager.

▪ Report any Maintenance/Housekeeping issues relevant supervisor/manager.

▪ Keep up to date on all current allergy information and understand the procedures and policies we have in place for dietary requirements and allergens.

▪ To ensure you are fully aware of The Licensing Act 2003, The Food Safety Act 1990 and The

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and always following the policies and procedures.

▪ Cleanliness within the Café Bar/Chestnut Room/Marquee and all back areas; ensuring they remain clean, tidy, and promote a safe working environment.

▪ Ensure the necessary paperwork for food safety is completed daily and that you are following all our policies and procedures.

▪ Demonstrate commercial awareness by upselling when required. Ensure you have an appropriate level of product knowledge by upselling efficiently.

▪ Ensure daily brief is understood with all required tasks and duties completed.

▪ Ensure all chemical and fire/evacuation policies are always followed.

▪ Be responsible and accountable for your own health and safety and that of colleagues, customers, clients, and visitors to the Oxwich Bay Hotel.

▪ Take part in any further recommended training.

▪ Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour
