Kenton Black Scientific is a recruitment partner to a food testing laboratory based in Wolverhampton. They are looking to hire a team leader to join their sample preparation team. The team is responsible for preparing food samples for food chemistry testing.Sample preparation technicians are responsible preparing food samples by weighing, blending and extraction methods etc. As a team leader, this person will be responsible for managing all operational activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for managing a team of sample preparation technicians
- Responsible for planning, prioritising and assign tasks and projects
- Manage, mentor, coach and train a new team of technicians to provide them with the skill-set and competencies to meet challenging customer expectations
- Ensure all work carried out according to laboratory quality standards
- Ensure that adequate amount of staff is present at all times in the laboratory

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in managing staff
- Degree in Science is desired but not essential
- Excellent experience in working within high
- throughput environment
- Good laboratory skills and practices
- Proven project management skills and experience, lean production principles
