**Hybrid Working**
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
**What will you be doing?**:
- Horizon scanning for new, emerging or changes in ongoing political and public policy developments that impact Barclays Business and Corporate Bank strategic objectives
- Building and maintaining a strong internal and external network to ensure a solid awareness of relevant policy developments
- Driving communications, events and public affairs efforts to build Barclays’ Business and Corporate Bank reputation amongst political stakeholders
- Coordinating and writing briefs for senior Barclays Business and Corporate Bank representatives ahead of key government meetings
- Proactive advocacy work across business sectors and forging good relationships with relevant government departments across these areas
- Working closely with Barclays Heads of Regional Corporate Relations in ensuring that they have relevant Corporate and Business Bank insights which aid regional outreach
- Demonstrating excellent stakeholder management across internal Corporate Responsibility disciplines (events, sponsorship, media relations, campaigns) and ability to influence
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
**What we’re looking for**:
- Extensive employee communications experience and experience in heading teams
- Ability to translate business objectives into integrated, targeted communications plans
- Excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and compelling way with the ability to work at pace, with tight deadlines and a focus on execution
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisation skills and the ability to think creatively and solve problems
**Skills that will help you in the role**:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills both internally and externally, comfortable acting as a representative of the company with external stakeholders
- Interest in politics and external relations - knowledge of how UK public policy is formed and an understanding of the workings of Whitehall and Parliament
- Excellent project and process management skills
**Where will you be working?**
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
