_This is a hybrid role once training is complete with 2, maybe 3 days per week in the office in Bury St Edmunds._
**Purpose of the Role**
This exciting new opportunity has arisen to join a growing team and support the Finance Reporting and Accounts Payable teams in allocating Purchase Ledger invoices. In addition, you will support the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts, consisting of the profit and loss and balance sheets in addition to the preparation of information for statutory accounts, recording of fixed assets, project tracking and payroll in line with the Group financial control framework and Group reporting timetable.
**What you will do**
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:
- Support the Finance teams with the allocation and posting of purchase ledger invoices.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss account, balance sheet and supporting commentary.
- Support the preparation of monthly KPIs which complement the management accounts.
- Responsible for posting monthly journals as required by the Finance Manager and Management Accountants.
- Support the preparation of the monthly accruals and prepayments schedule.
- Support the monthly preparation of the full balance sheet reconciliation and full supporting commentary.
- Preparation of the Fixed Asset Register.
- Support the preparation of year-end and mid-year audit files and liaison with external auditors.
**Qualifications and Experience**
Education - A-Levels or equivalent
Specialised Knowledge - CASS, IFRS, UK GAAP
Microsoft Excel - Skills to an advanced level
Professional Certification - part qualified AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE
Technical experience:
- Knowledge of IFRS Accounting concepts and processes
- Strong knowledge of internal financial controls
- Strong understanding of Chart of Accounts and cost centre structure
