We have a great opportunity for an experienced Compound Management/Sample Management Scientist to join us at BioAscent as an Associate Director and contribute to our continued growth and success. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a vital role in the development and management of our compound library, contributing to ground-breaking discoveries and the improvement of human health.
**The Role**
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure the highest level of productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, such as medicinal chemistry, biology, and screening, to support their needs and seamlessly integrate compound management into their workflows.
- Staying updated with industry trends and technological advancements in compound management and introducing innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize processes, including inventory management, sample tracking, and quality control.
- Overseeing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement of compound management equipment and supplies.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintaining accurate records of compound inventory, handling, and disposal.
**The Requirements**
As an experienced Compound Management scientist, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership skills with significant experience in line management, coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
- Extensive compound management experience in pre-clinical drug discovery within the CRO/biotech/pharmaceutical industry, including a proven track record of implementing new processes and achieving results.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in compounds and samples management and logistics to support drug discovery projects, along with a desire to identify new client needs and integrate them into the departmental offering.
- An understanding of the importance of continuous improvement and a proactive approach to gathering feedback from stakeholders to shape the scientific and business direction of the department.
- Experience in budget management and ensuring appropriate resource and financial allocation, including the timely identification of potential issues along with proposed solutions/mitigations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire in a matrix environment.
- Capability for independent working or deputizing for the Director's role as required.

Our integrated drug discovery services include de novo assay development, compound screening, medicinal and synthetic chemistry, computational chemistry, and compound management.

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
