**Support Worker - Adults (Learning Disabilities)**
Torquay, Devon
Salary scale: £10.41 - £11.09 per hour (dependant on qualifications)
Working hours: Full-time days (40 hours per week) or part-time days (hours to be discussed)
Care to make a difference to a young person's life? Then this could be the career for you. We are looking for a Support Worker to join our team at Sesame, our adult residential home in Torquay.
**About the Role**
As a Support Worker, you will provide support to young adults with complex learning disabilities as they go about their daily lives. Sesame offers a safe environment, enabling residents to explore their potential and develop their level of independence withhelp from caring and skilled support staff.
You’ll receive full training and ongoing support in your role to build on your existing experience and enable you to achieve your career ambitions.
Delivering a high level of personal care, you will ensure the boundaries of choice, dignity and respect are maintained, and if necessary, safeguarding issues are pursued.
Your average week could consist of 12 hour shifts (08.00am - 20.00pm) or 6 hour shifts (08.00am - 14.00pm or 14.00pm - 20.00pm). You will need to have availability to work alternate weekends.

We are a Learning Disability charity based at Dartington in Devon. Across the local area, we have Children & Adults Residential Homes, a Further Education College and Community based programmes.

**About You**
Although it is not a prerequisite, successful applicants will be expected to obtain the Care Certificate within an agreed timeframe.
Responsible, dependable and committed, as a Support Worker, you must also have a friendly, encouraging and easy-going attitude, as well as great communication skills.
