**Revolutionary optical technology start-up with a mission to change the way we see.**:
- **Evolve the future product and work with cutting-edge technologies including VR & AR.**:
- **Tech includes: C#, Azure, Python, MATLAB.**
In a world of technological progress, the optical industry has been relatively unchanged since glasses were first created in the late thirteenth century. Inspired by the science of sight, a group of scientists decided to shake things up and developed dynamiclenses that change focus just like the human eye. Knowing they’d just scratched the surface of possibility, they set out to explore the potential of the technology. Since then, they’ve expanded into virtual reality and augmented reality markets with the goalof improving the technology so it can be used in the real world to solve modern challenges. The product has just recently been launched and they have longer-term ambitions to scale the product across the UK and then to other regions around the world.
The company is growing, so they’re looking for a Graduate with a passion for science and technology who wants to embark on a career in software engineering.
**The skills we’re looking for**:
- A Mathematics or Physics based degree (2:1 or above), including modules on computing and optics.
- Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: MATLAB, Python, C# (from your degree or personal projects).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Someone who is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, enjoys research and is eager to learn new skills.
Bonus points for
- Experience working with agile tools like Microsoft Azure DevOps and Jira.
**What you’ll be doing**:
This will probably be your first role since graduating, so you don’t need previous commercial experience in software development. You’ll learn new skills, technologies, and techniques, and will be supported along the way to reach your goals. Day-to-day youwill work closely with the Head of Software to help build product prototypes for development and testing. The company are at the start of their software development journey, so you’ll document your code in a clear and concise way so that it’s easy for newteam members to navigate as the business scales. You’ll have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy getting stuck into different aspects of the business, which could also include undertaking research or tasks to support the scientists and engineers with physicalproduct builds. The role will be based in their Oxford office, but they’re open to hybrid working with around 3 days in the office a week.
**What you’ll get in return for your talents**:
On top of a competitive graduate salary of up to £35k depending on experience, you’ll also receive a range of perks including: private medical & dental insurance, pension scheme (5% employer contributions), 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and options tobuy additional holiday, ad-hoc bonuses, electric car salary sacrifice scheme, weekly lunches, and regular socials. They offer hybrid working, so your time will be split between their Oxford-based office and home, or it can be fully office based if you prefer. With plans to expand into new markets, it’s an incredible time to join and there’s a real sense of passion and excitement around their mission. You’ll be surrounded by people who want to make a difference and have the feel-good factor of working on a uniqueand life-changing product.
