**Who are we looking for?**
A strong leader who is patient, capable, caring and trustworthy. You must be able to support the 6 core members who live in the house alongside your team.
You will lead by example and naturally role model the values of L'Arche. A calm, encouraging and positive manner is essential, as is the ability to create and maintain mutual relationships amongst all members of the house.
You will have a good sense of humour and a resilience that your experience in the care industry can demonstrate.
This role will include shift work. A full, clean driving licence would be an advantage, and you should be a clear communicator with great organisational skills. You should be comfortable with basic computer packages, as well as general administration.
**Main purpose of job**:
L’Arche Bognor Regis is part of a global network of communities where people with and without learning disabilities live and share in life together, working for a world where we all belong.
You will lead your team to continually improve the living standards and quality of care provision for the core members. You will ensure that your home is fully CQC compliant, and help to train your team accordingly. Working with a wider group of Managers, you will share experiences to build strong relationships and support systems across the community.
**Duties and tasks**:
- Manage all aspects of core member care and support and day to day running of the registered home in accordance with CQC standards and relevant legislation.
- Communicate clearly with core members and staff, as well as families and the wider community. Represent L'Arche, Bognor Regis and be a positive role model
- Support core members and assistants to engage in the spiritual life of the house and within the wider community and surrounding area
- Develop relationships with all in the group as well as the wider L'Arche community
- Act as a positive role model to the deputy house leader and team of assistants in the provision of excellent care and support.
- Lead on the development of comprehensive person centred plans in consultation with each core member, to enable them to reach their full potential, encouraging both individuality and belonging, to encourage their growth and well-being and ensuring that everyone is informed of their rights and responsibilities within the house and the community.
- Support team in carrying out interviews and facilitating core member involvement in the recruitment of new assistants. In turn, inducting, supporting and mentoring new team where appropriate.
- Maintain clear records and undertake all relevant training in a positive way that encourages the team to do the same
- Managing your team on a day to day basis including performing appraisals, supervision meetings and monitoring and reporting any conduct or disciplinary issues.
- Managing house budgets
- Being part of the on-call team on a rostered basis
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: Up to £27,000.00 per year
