Plant Operator

A vacancy has arisen for **Plant Operators **to join our Performance Chemicals section at our Ellesmere Port plant.

As part of the role, you will be operating process plant safely and efficiently, maximising yield performance, producing a quality finished product.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Operate a complex plant using recipe driven DCS systems
- Understand the risks associated with running a process at high temperature and pressure
- Understand Basis of Safety (BoS) and play a key part in SHE performance
- Accurate recording of data and compilation of shift reports
- Inputting of data to operate the process safely and productively to include batch sheets and plant logs
- Carry out in-process analysis
- Demonstrate high standards of plant cleanliness expected on a Personal care plant
- Make decisions during the manufacturing process to ensure product quality meets the agreed specification
- Use plant data to be involved in problem solving as required
- Create a quality Permit to Work to ensure that all hazards of carrying out maintenance are documented, and control measures are in place

**Requirements**:

- Experience on a continuous plant is preferrable
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Process Plant Operations
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the chemical industry or similar related industry
- Forklift Truck license holder
- Basic product analysis
- Operate the process according to SOP’s
- Understand the principles of CoSHH relevant to plant operations
- Understand the risks associated with running a process at high temperature and pressure
- Understand the Basis of Safety (BoS) and mitigation measures to prevent a MATTE or MAH
- Identified basic maintenance skills
- Involved in problem solving sessions to solve process problem
- Involved in a team of people to meet SHE and production targets
- Understand the basic chemistry of the manufacturing process
