Build & Test Technician

Our established and successful manufacturing client in Bridgend, is recruiting for an experienced Build & Test Technician to join them on a permanent basis, to undertake the build and test of a large range of Products in their production workshop.
This is not a traditional 'production' environment, it is working within a small and project production team, working on electromechanical product builds, followed by rigorous testing and checks to ensure proper functionality.
The role requires a high level of team working as well as the ability to take ownership of problems and deliver solutions on time, working closely with the Production Supervisor and wider team to ensure quality output at all times.
The salary range is up to 22k depending on experience, with great opportunities to progress within this growing company.
The Role:
- Manufacture of electrical and mechanical assemblies in accordance with build documents, mechanical assembly drawings, wiring schedules, electrical schematics, and Microsoft Excel & Word documents.
- Complete all relevant quality checks and paperwork relating to each build.
- Complete top-level build of products by incorporating previously built sub-assemblies.
- Report any issues back to production management in good time and a concise manner so that corrective and preventive actions may be discussed with engineering.
- Ensure that non-conforming parts follow the RTV/NCR process.
- Responsible for 5S & housekeeping ensuring standards are maintained.
- Commission and test all products to pre-defined plans.
- During the validation phase of new product development provide feedback on documentation and the ease of build.
- Ideally of 3 years' experience within a similar role and be educated to a minimum BTEC level 3 or equivalent A level in an electrical / electronic discipline.
- Hands on experience of mechanical assembly processes would be an advantage.
- Excellent hand and eye coordination.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and for long duration's.
- Strong level of attention to detail that helps maintain accuracy and error detection.
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work both within a team and independently.

Normal hours of work will be 37 per week (Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pmand Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm).
