Weapons Specialist - Test & Evaluation
We are currently looking for a Weapons Specialist (Test & Evaluation) to join our Integrated Engineering Services Division based in Graytown, Victoria.
Your role as Weapons Specialist (Test & Evaluation) will see you providing support to set up weapon tests, carry out pre use inspections and basic daily maintenance as well as munitions preparation to support trial activity at Graytown, Victoria. Additional responsibilities will include:
Assist in the groundwork of site preparation for explosives ordnance trials
Assist with the setup of weapon systems, prepare munitions for test and other test and evaluation systems to conduct explosives ordnance trial activities
Provide management with assistance to coordinate maintenance of equipment and plant infrastructure
Provide assistance with coordination of stores from the Q-Store for use on the range
Assist with work health and safety risk analysis and minimisation strategies appropriate to task activities being undertaken
Assist in management safety measures and controls to ensure they are adhered to in relation to weapons and munitions handling and storage
Identify the need for inventory replenishment of associated equipment requirements
To be successful in the role of Weapons Specialist (Test & Evaluation) you will require:
Proven experience working within a Defence or related organisation in a similar role
Basic understanding and awareness of munitions, including awareness of explosive safety requirement and the maintenance and use of small arms weapon systems and plant equipment
Ideally you will possess forklift and medium ridged truck licences and have one or more tickets for the operation of plant equipment, e.g. front end loader, crane and backhoe or similar
Weapons handling experience
Experience in relation to site preparation, road maintenance or similar
Previous exposure to weapons handling and Explosive Ordnance would be advantageous
Ability to work within a team environment with multiple stakeholders, providing required outcomes under limited supervision and the ability to support and mentor other staff
