**Job Summary**:
To deliver a safe, effective and caring service, maintain excellent relationships with patients, and through this help the team achieve sound business performance.

**Duties**:

- Meet and greet Pharmacy visitors and assist with their requirements
- Assist in the supply of prescribed items (taking in a prescription and issuing prescribed items)
- Assist in accurately bagging up TTOs for the porter delivery to the wards
- File completed prescriptions accurately
- Assist in the sale of over-the-counter medicines and provide information to customers on symptoms and products
- Assist patients with their medication queries, liaising with relevant staff to obtain answers for patients
- Be responsible for the safe packing and posting of medicines to patients’ homes
- Hand out medicines, over the counter sales of medicines and relevant retail sales, in a healthcare environment
- Process purchase documents on the computer system
- Receive and distribute incoming mail for staff
- Check stationery stock levels and re-order as necessary
- Provide general administrative support: filing, database management and photocopying for Pharmacy staff as required
- Assist in ordering of medicine
- Maintain the cash register and ensure daily balances are correct and ensure credit card transactions are carried out correctly
- Price retail stock and assist with retail stock takes
- Assure service quality and patient safety, by following Standard Operating Procedures and corporate policies including GDPR and Health & Safety
- Offer suggestions to improve the way we work utilising best practices
- Maintain excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees, and contributes to the teamwork ethic so enabling the best possible service and care to patients
- Ensure confidentiality of commercial and clinical information, which may relate to customers, staff, Company policies, prices, business information; and takes account of requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, and Freedom of Information legislation
- Ensure that paperwork is completed accurately and on time, communicates issues as appropriate, and attends meetings as required
- Complete stock control procedures and has a basic understanding of the robot functions
- Manage their own personal training and development
- Adhere to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and all other relevant legislation
- Any other relevant duties and training requirements at the request of the line Manager.

**Person Specification**:
**ESSENTIALS**
- NVQ Medicines Counter Assistant qualification
- GCSE at C or 4 grade in Maths and English
- Computer literate
- The ability to prioritise, pay attention to detail and cope under pressure in a busy environment
- Experience in an admin or retail environment
- Excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues
- Team player
- Self-motivated.
