Site Supervisor

ATM is one of the UK’s leading landscaping, highway maintenance, fencing and vegetation management/maintenance contractors.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Site Supervisor who has the aptitude and ability to be part of a strong team and play a key role in our business expansion in South / South West England.

Responsible for a single site, the Site Supervision is a vital role in the construction industry. As the site supervisor, it’s your job to both assess and manage safety hazards in the workplace.

A hands-on approach is required to organize, motivate, and lead operational teams carrying out a range of activities ensuring a safe, compliant, efficient, and high-quality service is delivered at all times. Responsible for carrying out site audits, ensuring plant and equipment is kept in service, maintaining the stock levels of consumables and PPE together with monitoring of competence levels of the team are as required for the works and kept up to date. Understanding company policies and procedures and ensuring these are always being adhered to.

**_Responsibilities_**
- Monitoring of site regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards, and ensure compliance with H&S, Environmental and other policies & requirements (RAMS etc).
- Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
- Informing site workers on daily safety requirements and protocol and re-enforcing monitoring site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Handling site accidents in accordance with established company / contract accident and incident protocol and reporting to line manager / HSQE team in accordance with protocol.
- Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
- Monitor the quality of delivery and adherence to client requirements and specification, and provide / maintain suitable & timely records as required (NHSS, ISO, specification etc)
- Monitor performance and output of site staff and assist with any potential disciplinary issues as may be required from line management.
- Ensure delivery of project in line with specification and drawings.
- Make appropriate and documented recommendations to Line Manager regarding changes to operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
- Identify and report to manager any complaints or Quality concerns as per internal requirements.

**_Qualifications_**

SSSTS (SMST when acting in PC role), Previous Supervisor Experience, CSCS Gold Card, SCM, Emergency First Aid + F. Experience / Competence in works activities delivered.

**Specific Duties / Requirements of the Role**:
**_General Operational & HSQE Duties: _**
- Keep Site Covid-19 compliant and safe.
- Continually strive for a positive H&S culture across the business. Positively push and oversee that all safety observations and near misses are being reported through the correct ATM and client channels.
- Ensure all direct labour force /sub-contract staff are aware of program of works for the specific scheme/job, including specific H&S, Env. & Quality requirements, and ATM Ltd minimum standards (PPE, vehicles, reporting, paperwork etc).
- Brief any new site teams / individuals onto existing RAMS and other documentation and ensure requirements are understood and signed for. This will include CPP’s and full site induction if required. Ensure all site permits are in place, compliant, understood and signed on to by workforce e.g., permit to clear, permit to dig, hot works etc. (NB, initial start of job RAMS briefing to be carried out by SM / CM).
- Undertake SOS briefings daily, brief out TBTs and safety alerts, ensure Allocation sheets, POWRA, Plant checks etc are completed correctly daily. Ensure all requirements are understood & signed for by workforce, and that any dynamic risks are safely mitigated and recorded prior to commencement of works or escalated to Line Manager before proceeding.
- Monitor health, safety, and environment for the site, ensuring that all direct labour & sub-contractors are working safely, have all appropriate PPE, understand, and follow RAMS / ATM minimum requirements and any specific contractual requirements.
- In the event that ATM Ltd are appointed Principal Contractor, a SMSTS qualified and competent full time site supervisor is required at all times on site to monitor health, safety, and environment for the site in accordance with the agreed Construction Phase Plan, ensuring that all direct labour, sub-contractors, and any others are working safely, have all appropriate PPE, understand, and follow RAMS / ATM minimum requirements / their own minimum requirements and any specific contractual requirements etc.
