Our Small Business team is looking for a Technology Associate Underwriter to join them in any of our regional offices in the UK or Ireland. You ideally will have previous underwriting experience in Technology, Cyber, Professional Indemnity (PI) or otherlines of business and will use this expertise to underwrite renewal business, within your authority as well as assisting the wider underwriting team, that is consistent with Travelers underwriting strategies within the Small Business Unit. Accountable forselling and marketing the technology portfolio products as well as operating in a multi-channel, fast paced environment. You will work with a panel of global broker partners, offering a superior, responsive customer service and making sound underwriting decisionsthrough the life cycle of the policy.

On a day to day basis you will;
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with underwriting strategies and regulatory requirements. Works collaboratively within Small Business Unit providing support when required.
- Take corrective action and/or collaborate with the Senior/Small Business Underwriter based on identified risk characteristics.
- Follow Best Practices, including Underwriting processes and Workflow management.
- Prequalify accounts to identify customer needs and take appropriate action.
- Function as point of sale for proposal delivery and negotiation.
- Use commercial awareness to negotiate premium and terms on small business products to deliver sustainable profit.
- Utilise various technologies to quote/bind.
- Operates efficiently in line with the defined operational service level agreements.
- Where appropriate identify opportunities to write additional lines of business using knowledge of products, risk characteristics and appetite.
- Maintain and enhance understanding of Travelers products, services and solutions and initiate discussions with other business areas as appropriate.
