Overview and Responsibilities: **School Cleaner** **Location**: Leyland, nr Preston, Lancashire **Salary: £11.00 per hour** (plus 13% holiday pay) **Hours**: Flexible shifts to include early mornings or evenings Aurora Brambles School is an independent day school in Lancashire providing specialist education for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). What is bank/casual work? **Our bank staff usually cover staff sickness, holiday and busy periods and they are able to choose what days they want to work, giving them a great deal of flexibility.** The main purpose of the role: To provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, halls, corridors, and toilets. **Key Duties**: - Duties to include the following: - Vacuum cleaning floors. - Spot cleaning of spillages. - Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass. - Emptying and cleaning bins (daily). - Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds. - Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces. - Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing. - Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily). - Undertake deep clean as and when required. - Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit. - Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time. Skills and Qualifications: **Skills and Qualifications**: - Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials. - Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. - Ability to work with minimum supervision. - Ability to prioritise work and be flexible. - Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.
