**The Role**:
The Procurement team are currently recruiting for a proactive individual to be responsible for the cost-effective procurement of materials and services in line with the needs of production. This role would be mainly site based but would allow you to get involved with wider business requirements. You would also have responsibility for site procurement requirements and support of maintenance consumables and materials.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Placing of purchase orders for direct and indirect materials and services, whilst also providing cost savings and quality improvements
- Maintain and control of approved supplier database and Certs/accreditation
- Convert Planned Purchase Orders into committed orders
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Assist with the negotiation of Purchase Agreements and selection of suppliers
- Use the MRP system to best advantage
- Place, expedite and track orders via the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system
- Regular liaison with suppliers to ensure delivery on time and to specification
- Provide advice and support to the estimating function as appropriate
- Liaison with internal departments for the purchase and supply of materials and services
- Ensure Purchase Orders are delivered on time and in full to meet the Master Production Schedules Production dates
- Support Production, Materials and Procurement Manager as required
- Works with Contract Specialist to ensure contracts are in place and new suppliers are administrated
- Helps generate forecasts to develop SLA’s/contracts going forward
- Updates and closes NCR’s with suppliers.
- Note that travel will likely be required - mostly within UK. There would be a requirement to regularly (once a month) visit our Sandiacre (Nottingham) facility and periodically our facility in Edinburgh. There would also be a requirement to visit UK based suppliers and possibly suppliers outside of the UK.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence people at all levels - shop floor to upper management.
- Ability to work as a team and develop relationships.
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar role procuring materials via MRP. (Experience of Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage but not essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excel and Microsoft Office experience
- Driven and a self-starter
- Driving license (Essential)
- Experience of manufacturing environment (Desirable)

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
