**Job Overview**

Support a contract team in the provision of a high quality general maintenance service; ensuring the upkeep of designated areas by carrying out general and specific duties as directed in line with the agreed contract specification.

**Main Duties**
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs to a designated building, its fabric, fixtures and fittings, as requested by the customer and/or Mitie contract management team, maintaining internal and external premises and surrounds.
- Liaise with Interserve contract management team on the day to day running of the building the reporting of issues relating to operation and appearance.
- Carry out routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions are achieved.
- Ensure entrance and exit points are clean and tidy.
- Ensure adequate stock of cleaning materials is held at site.
- Assist in the packing and removal of equipment and furniture from site.
- Address any acute internal issues for example blocked drains, toilets, minor spillages, replacement of light bulbs and lamps.
- Painting and decorating as agreed and directed by management.
- To help setting up rooms for the business day including AV equipment, sound systems, media systems, setting up furniture and so forth as required by customers.
- Accountable for communicating the status of work to both the customer and Interserve contract management team.
- Maintain high standards of personal performance, hygiene appearance and attitude at all times.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
- In the event of snow and frost, the clearing of designated access routes within the schools precincts.

**What we are looking for**
- Previous experience as a handyperson in a customer-facing environment will be essential,
- Physical / Dexterity for manual handling accountabilities.
- Experience and skills within painting/decorating, carpentry, plumbing and tiling.
- Able to work in a demanding and busy area.
- Basic computer knowledge would be expected.
- Basic knowledge of heating and air conditioning plant would be desirable.
- Qualifications in Carpentry and Painting & Decorating would be desirable.
- Flexible/Adaptable approach to work.
- Friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on their own with mínimal supervision.
- Sets and maintains high standards of delivery.
