My client is looking to hire a Housing Property Service Support. This role will be to support the Housing Property Services Manager and the Repairs Manager in developing and delivering these changes.
Housing Property Services is responsible for the maintenance and improvement to Council Housing stock. The service area comprises of various functions, these include general Repairs and Maintenance, Equipment and Adaptations, Voids, Gas, Electrical and Capital works teams. These teams deliver reactive, cyclical, and planned maintenance to the councils 5,768 stock of properties within the borough of Redditch.
The Repairs and Maintenance part of the service is in need of modernisation and will soon be supported with a new ICT package covering both Housing Management and Repairs. There is subsequently a service review being undertaken to identify the structure required to take the service forward. With the service review and subsequent implementation additional support will required to achieve our goals. Support is proposed to form two distinct areas of expertise, firstly in cultural change and change management and the other is within the technical delivery of these services.
These changes are being supported by members of the central Business Improvement Team within the Council. Both Management and workforce will need to work in the new required way, culturally including the development and implementation of a performance-based culture.
Technical support is required to assist in the integration of performance management including a whole process review to ensure works are allocated in accordance with capacity, that productivity is understood and managed, and the quality of product and service delivery is developed to achieve a high level.
The role will include providing Coaching and mentoring of the management and supervisory teams, as well as being a critical friend to support and challenge the creation of a robust service.
As part of this role, it will include assistance on the implementation of new technologies for a variety of issues including receiving and updating works order/jobs as well as the back office updating and reporting within systems.
It is anticipated that this position would be for a 12-month period with a flexible work pattern including days worked and location. However, given the brief it is anticipated that a proportion of time, approximately half of the working week, may be undertaken within the office environment.
