Nursing Associate
Slough CMHT has an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate who wishes to join our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. A Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm working pattern is just one of the attractions this opportunity will provide to you. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop group work, as well as individual intervention skills.
Slough is the second largest town in Berkshire and is within the Greater London Urban Area. The A4, M4, M40 and M25 are all easily accessible making travel to and from very straightforward. Links to the centre of London are excellent with four trains an hour to Paddington, fast trains taking only 18 mins.
As a Nurse Associate you will be a member of the Slough Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based in New Horizons. Slough CMHT is a multi-disciplinary service. As such, you will be working alongside Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Employment Support Workers (and more).
We work in a multi-disciplinary way using BioPsychoSocial formulations and assessment. You may find yourself as part of the depot clinic: administering injections, or helping run a physical health clinic. Your role is likely to involve an element of work in the community as well as in our community clinics. Flexible working styles are necessary to ensure we can reach patients who find it difficult to engage with traditional models of service delivery.
- To develop a working knowledge of the statutory frameworks under which we provide care and treatment to patients (e.g. NHS and Social Care Act 2012, Mental Capacity Act 2005 etc.)
- To work at all times according to Good Clinical Practice, Research Governance, Trust policies and guidelines and Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- To work within the scope of your clinical competence, under the supervision of an appropriately qualified Nurse, and within the wider multi-disciplinary service.
- To learn about coordination of specific studies and coordinate studies as assigned under supervision.
- Undertake Depot and Physical health check clinics as required.

**Some of the benefits of joining our team**:
- Salary ranging from £23,667 - £26,127 p.a. (inc. of HCAS)
- Flexible working opportunities and a strong emphasis on your work, life balance
- Annual leave - 27 days for new starters, plus bank holidays. Increasing to 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years NHS service. Pro rata for part time staff
