**Job description**

**Job purpose**:
To undertake a wide range of cleaning duties to meet client requirements, monitored outcomes and high standards within a healthcare setting.

**Cleaning personnel may be required to undertake**:
Cleaning: - patient rooms, wash rooms, communal areas, front of house, offices, halls, corridors and other areas:
Washing of beds, equipment and fixtures.

Cleaning of utility and storage rooms, maintaining in a clean and orderly order.

Distributing laundered articles and linens.

May be asked to disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using approved chemicals and sterilizing equipment in line with National & Local Infection Control Policies & Procedures.

**Key Accountabilities**:
As an indication, duties will include the following tasks (this list is not exhaustive):
**General Cleaning**

Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and spot washing of floors

Dusting and polishing

Waste bin and rubbish segregation and disposal in accordance with site and infection prevention policies

Toilets and toilet floors cleaning, wash hand basins and washing areas, disinfecting, polishing and dusting as appropriate.

Replenishing consumables as required

Windows and glazing cleaning and polishing

Brushing and vacuuming soft furnishings

Kitchen equipment cleaning

**Key technical skills, experience and qualifications**

Experience of a wide range of cleaning duties within a healthcare environment although full training will be provided

A full DBS will be required (this can be arranged by us but may delay your start date)

**Healthcare cleaning can involve interaction with the public, clinical and other domestic staff, patients including vulnerable individuals. For these reasons we will require a DBS check with no previous convictions as well as a good public manner and clear communication ability.**

At present we have vacancies for the following shifts:
Saturday mornings (usually 6am-12pm or 7am-1pm)

Saturday afternoons (usually 12pm-6pm or 1pm to 7pm)

Sunday am and pm (7am - 1pm or 12pm - 6pm)

Monday pm (12pm - 6pm or 1pm - 7pm)

Friday am (usually 6am-12pm or 7am-1pm)

Week day shifts (5 days) 2 hours per morning

**As per recent government legislation, you will be required to have been fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus unless a medical exemption applies. We are required to confirm this by sight of the NHS app confirmation or by a letter of confirmation from the NHS showing the dates of vaccination.**

**All staff aged 18 or over who are employed or engaged for the purposes of the provision of a regulated activity and who have direct, face-to-face contact with service users must be double vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical exemption applies. The requirement will be under The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations 2021 (the ‘2021 Regulations’).**
