The University of Southampton’s mission is to change the world for the better. As a world-leading, research-intensive university, with a strong and high-quality educational offering, it is renowned for its innovation and enterprise and sits within the top 1% of universities worldwide.
**The role**
We have an opportunity to join the Finance Department as a Pensions Administrator; you will:
- Be responsible for all aspects of the pensions administration, while delivering a customer focused and pro-active approach.
- Provide professional services to a diverse customer base; internal and external members and clients, and attending relevant meetings.
- Perform manual calculations and produce quotations, statements and transfer values using your excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Produce written correspondence to enquiries, as well as dealing with queries via the telephone.
**About you**
Ideally you will have previous experience in Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension arrangements, with the ability to work to current legislative and company requirements. However, payroll experience would be required as a minimum for applicants looking to move in to pension administration, with training being provided on the University’s affiliated Schemes.
**Working here**
We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse culture at the University and creating an environment where people can balance successful careers with their commitments and interests outside of work. Our flexible working practices, including a hybrid working model, where employees can split their working time between the office and home, support our belief that this balance brings long-lasting benefits for our institution as well as our people. We believe equality and diversity are fundamental to making the University of Southampton a vibrant, proud, and successful organisation. A diverse workforce, with people from different racial, educational, and social backgrounds and a range of ages, opens a wealth of possibilities for Southampton.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants who support our mission of inclusivity.
