Permanent role Hybrid or Office based.
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for qualified or part qualified Trust and Tax Associate to join a company based in Bury St Edmunds.
**Hours**:
37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday
Earliest start is 8am, Latest start is 9.30am - working 7 and ½ hours from that point, excluding lunch.
**The Role**
Work in the Trust department in Bury St Edmunds.
The company does offer flexible working, but you will need to work in the office for at least 3 days per week.
The role will focus primarily on Trusts, but you will have exposure to personal tax clients. You will also be required to prepare Trust Accounts, but full training will be given on this.,
The role would predominantly relate to the private client sector and will include preparing work for review by senior members and may include reviewing work completed by junior members of staff
Within the trust department with 2 managers and the Trust department falls within a wider department of Tax (approx. 14 people)
**Duties**
- Self-assessment tax returns for trusts, estates and individuals, including related tax calculations. All related correspondence with clients, HM Revenue & Customs and third parties as required. Monitoring and working to related deadlines.
- Accounts for trusts and estate
- Monitoring deadlines on Trusts and Estates, such as ten yearly charges and beneficial entitlements, and ensuring the firm’s information is kept updated.
- Dealing with the day-to-day administration on clients.
- Inheritance Tax returns for trusts, estates and individuals.
- Capital Gains Tax computations and returns.
- Ad hoc advisory work, such as advising on Trust distributions.
- Provide support on planning projects and researching technical issues on tax advisory work. Drafting clear, concise and accurate advisory letters for review by a senior member of staff.
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior members of staff.
- Registering new trusts on the Trust Registration Service, ensuring this is updated and that annual declarations are made.
- Provide support in dealing with telephone calls, client meetings and general office administration. Carry out any other duties to meet with the needs of the business.
**The Person**
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills; be enthusiastic self-motivated commercially aware and have the ability to manage your own time and work to multiple deadlines
- You will have excellent communication skills including: being able to communicate effectively with other team members senior members of staff third parties and work well in a team
- You will need to have great attention to detail and be able to work methodically and in a timely manner
**Must Haves**
- 3 or 4 years experience in the exact role or similar role (Tax)
- CTA or STEP qualified or part-qualified
- Hard-working attitude with a commitment to learning
