Axco is one of them With more than 50 years’ experience in researching and publishing industry intelligence on insurance and employee benefits information, Axco is the definitive information source for professionals in these markets around the world. As a Global Risk Analyst with Axco you will be responsible for a primary set of countries, alongside further thematic analysis and additional locations tailored to interest and experience. You will be producing and maintaining our Country Risk Assessments, currently within the General Section of the Insurance Market Report, for your set of markets using a combination of secondary research techniques and sources. Monitoring developments in political, economic, security, operational and environmental risk in your countries, you will be building sources to ensure that you stay ahead of developing trends, the information for which you will use to write briefings andfocused analysis on global, regional and country trends that may have repercussions on the operational environment. **Other responsibilities of the Global Risk Analyst will include**: - Participating in product development within the team and the wider business as we look to produce additional metrics, reports and alerts to help clients understand their risk environment. - Conducting basic analysis on numerical data to support conclusions and provide insight into emerging trends, from polling data to macroeconomics and demographics. - Assisting with checking analysis within the team, ensuring our products meet the analytical and editorial standards expected by our clients. We support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful you really need to already be able to tick most of these boxes. Don’t worry if you don’t meet every requirement - we don’t expect one person will necessarily be able to do everything listed **You will need**: - The ability to write reports in English to the highest standard - this requirement is really important. - At least an undergraduate degree preferably with a background in political science, international relations or economics. A postgraduate degree is preferred although not essential. - Previous work experience in research, including experience writing reports and presenting analysis. - Regional specialism is valued but not essential - expertise in Europe, the Middle East and Africa are particularly useful. - Reading comprehension of foreign languages is highly desirable. - Comfort with quantitative research, particularly with regards to macroeconomic indicators. - Experience in country or political risk analysis or a related field is a bonus. **You need to be the kind of person who** - Is passionate about politics, economics and global markets. - Knows about or who wants to learn about thematic areas such as terrorism, climate change, commodities, cyber-security, sanctions, international finance etc. - Can analyse topics objectively, maintaining balance and impartiality around controversial topics. - Is keen to contribute toward product development, finding new ways to deliver compelling analysis in a timely fashion. - Thrives in a fast paced, forward thinking and intellectually rigorous environment - Enjoys a challenge - we work hard, and it can be a steep learning curve **If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role click on "APPLY"
