Here at **AIS**, we have an exciting opportunity available for an **Infrastructure & Service Desk Team Leader **to join our IT team based in **Solihull.** You will join us on a **full-time, permanent basis,** and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary **depending on experience.**
**AIS** is the largest non-food buying group of its kind in the UK, with a membership of 300 independent department stores and specialist retailers. The business is now entering an exciting time of change, with a new Managing Director at the helm and a transformational agenda to bring a more commercial and customer-focused approach to this well-established and successful membership organisation.
As our **Infrastructure & Service Desk Team Leader** you will manage the service desk team and functions. You will work closely with the Infrastructure and Service Desk Manager to support and enhance the business systems and services in line with the requirements of the AIS group and its members.
**Key responsibilities as our Infrastructure & Service Desk Team Leader**:
- Oversee the day to day running of the IT Infrastructure team & Service Desk Team.
- Deputise for the IT Infrastructure & Service Desk Manager when they are temporarily out of the business
- Continually assess the risks to the IT systems to minimise possible security threats
- Provides status reporting to management
- Work with the IT Infrastructure & Service Desk Manager to support the planning and delivery of all departmental projects
- Coordinate and implement the installation, testing and development of the IT infrastructure including hardware and software
- Investigate and resolve systems issues
- Manage, mentor and train staff within the team, ensuring that they are motivated and equipped to deliver a high-quality service to agreed standards
- Assist with the management of service contracts, including vendors, managed service providers and suppliers as well as managing escalations to 3rd parties
- Assist with the management, recruitment, supervision and development of the team.
**What we’re looking for in our Infrastructure & Service Desk Team Leader**:
- Maintain a professional approach at all times and represent the I.T. service to a professional level
- Ability to investigate and propose new solutions and systems to support the business
- Ability to create and present high-quality documentation & management information
- Ability to strike the balance between technical solutions, cost/effort and business requirements
- Relevant degree and evidence of continuous professional development in an IT role
- Experience of utilising the ITIL framework in the delivery and continual service improvement of IT services
- Experience of supervising and mentoring a team of IT Technicians & Engineers
- Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Experience of working at a 3rd line technical level
- Experience of proactively monitoring security threats to an organisation
- Microsoft AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Profiles, Group Policy
