Shift Manager Job Description

Job Summary:
As a Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment during your assigned shifts. You will be responsible for overseeing restaurant operations, managing the team, and upholding high standards of service and quality.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage and supervise restaurant staff to ensure efficient operations during shifts.
- Coordinate with the team to deliver exceptional guest service and maintain brand standards.
- Assist in food production, preparation, and bartending as needed.
- Handle guest queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Support team members by assisting in various tasks such as cooking, helping with food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, back of house areas, and dining areas at all times.
- Implement stock rotation procedures, prep processes, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Stay updated on promotions, new products, and company policies.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues to the manager.
- Complete required documentation, including shift reports and cleaning tasks.
- Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in restaurant management or team supervision is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of food production, service cycles, and customer engagement.
- Ability to adapt communication style to interact effectively with guests and team members.

**Qualifications**:

- Supervising experience
- Team management skills
- Restaurant and culinary experience
- Strong leadership abilities
- Knowledge of food safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in food production and kitchen operations
- Previous hospitality or hotel experience
- Barista experience is a plus
- Ability to oversee food preparation and cooking
- Bartending skills are advantageous

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.84-£11.94 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
