In fact, it’s a big team effort and it’s why our Collections Assistant are so important.
What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Collections and House Officer or Mansion Duty Manager. You'll be working with an enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers to look after the mansion's historic collections and interiors.
Our properties are full of life and locally loved. You will be leading on conservation and supporting the operational needs of the mansion.
The Attingham team is very enthusiastic about welcoming everyone and the excellent service our team provides plays a huge part in achieving this goal.
What you'll be doing:As a Collections Assistant, you’ll be working with a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You’ll keep accurate records too.
In this visitor facing role, we’d love you to talk to visitors about the work you’re doing, and the collections we have. You'll also be part of the wider team of employees and volunteers, helping to cover where necessary.
You'll be working in at a fast-paced property, where you will need to adapt quickly from one task to another. You'll be doing everything from vacuuming and dusting to detailed preventative conservation work. You'll will be working closely with our conservation volunteers to deliver the department's aims and objectives. You will help to manage and deliver preventative conservation projects. We are an innovative team always looking to improve what we do and how we do it. This role will include regular weekend work.
