Job overview

The role will support the staff, Unit Managers, Lead Nurses and Governance Team to continue to develop the patient focussed safety culture which puts our patients at the centre of everything we do.

The successful applicant will work alongside the leadership teams, providing the Divisional Management Team with information and assurance relating to incidents, investigations, action plans and risk registers.

Main duties of the job

You will manage data to monitor key Governance outputs, preparing and presenting information for Directorate and Divisional meetings and to feed back to clinical teams.

You will be empowered to contribute to the continuous development of governance processes for the Family Services Division.
- Supporting investigations for incidents and complaints
- Reports for the Division, Care Organisation and external agencies.
- Support clinical teams to meet governance responsibilities for incident management, completion of investigation reports, embedding learning from investigations so that patients receive improved quality of care.
- Support the patient safety agenda by participating in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support guideline/policy development and timely review, ensuring that guidelines and policies to reflect national recommendations and best practice.

Actively participate in Directorate and Divisional meetings relevant to the role.

Post holder may be required to work at any acute or community based NCA location.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role._

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Registration with NMC
- Post-basic qualification to minimum diploma standard or equivalent level gained by experience

Desirable criteria
- Evidence of having undertaken relevant further study or training as required for the post
- Governance Training
- Degree in health related speciality

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential criteria
- Substantial post-registration experience in a leadership role
- Good communication skills
- I.T skills computer literate
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the Governance processes

Desirable criteria
- Managing change
- Leadership skills
