An opportunity has arisen for at Full Time Associate Practitioner grade for a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the Pathology Laboratory. Although working primarily in Biochemistry and Immunology the successful applicant may also be required to work flexibly across the Blood Sciences laboratories according to service needs.

Applications will be considered from experienced applicants with demonstrable competencies already working in a Pathology environment. You must hold qualifications acceptable to this role.

North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital services to the population of East Durham, Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees. The Biochemistry department is located at the North Tees site. The department processes in-patient, outpatient and GP requests and is currently equipped with Beckman and Roche analysers and pre-analytical sample handling. There is opportunity to participate in the training of staff with the department having an established CPD programme.

Assisting the Biomedical Science team by by processing Biochemistry samples and assisting with the Immunology samples.

Good communications skills, teamwork and an aptitude for problem solving are essential, as is a flexible attitude to work and willingness to adapt to changes in working practice.

Flexible working is a requirement for this post and the department operates a 24 hour shift system including weekend, bank holiday and night shifts at agenda for change rates. The successful applicant will be expected to participate fully in this rota after suitable training.

The Department has UKAS accreditation and IBMS training approval and has a well-established CPD programme
