Yard Hand

**General Description**:
The Yard Hand reports to the Yard Manager and is responsible for the maintenance of the boatyard within his/her areas of responsibility. The appointee is also responsible for the yard being held in a usable state and general housekeeping.

**Main Duties**:
Assist in the management of the Yard to ensure:

- Proper location and storage of incoming vessels and parts.
- Responsible for the security, control and movement of stock.
- Undertakes problem solving and other tasks as directed by the Yard Manager.
- Loading/unloading and moving stock using a crane.
- Operates in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety procedure, and other related company policies.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- To have the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
- Ideally, the appointee will be educated to a good standard, with English and Mathematics GCSE.
- He/she must be of good health and be able to lift weights up to the maximum limit as defined by the Health & Safety Executive

Pay: £13.00-£14.20 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Topsham, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Crane operation: 1 year (preferred)
- Working in a Boatyard: 2 years (preferred)
