40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 - 4.30pm

**OVERVIEW**
Hill Holt Wood is a nationally recognised and award-winning Environmental Social Enterprise. It currently employs 36 full and part time rangers and is engaged in a wide range of activities including the education of young people, extensive forestry operations, contracts with the local council, eco-construction and events and hire. It has enjoyed considerable success over the last 21 years and continues to build on its strong position focusing on sustainability, environmentalism, conservation and social awareness.
We are seeking a Head of External Contracts to lead relationships with our partners and oversee work on live contracts ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Management of external contracts and overall management of off-site works including but not limited to;
- Leading works with external partners including countryside management, litter picking, residential and garden contracts. Works include but are not limited to;
- Overseeing countryside work, management of footpaths and auditing.
- Overseeing grounds maintenance at various sites ensuring works are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Overseeing litter picking within the district, ensuring all areas are picked regularly and monitoring forms are completed.
- Overseeing works carried out at residential locations.
- Overseeing gardening works including visiting gardens, liaising with tenants and housing officers.
- Liaising with subcontractors and strategic partners as necessary.
- Completing reports and paperwork as required for contracts including proof of value and key performance indicator reporting.
- Overseeing the delivery of a walking festival each year.
- Attending contract and partnerships meetings as necessary.
- Quoting and invoicing for works as necessary.
- Organise staff rota each week to complete works as described above.
- Overseeing management of Hill Holt Wood sites, including but not limited to;
- 10 acres wet-grassland site
- 43 acres of mixed woodland
- 18 acres of deciduous woodland
- Actively participate in senior management meetings and help drive the strategic vision for the organisation.
- Recruit, manage, develop staff & drive performance of the whole team.
- Assist in daily staff rota planning and coordinating any changes if needed.
- Report writing as required.
**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Experience leading multidiscipline teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Project management experience.
- Experience of managing a budget and forecasting future spends.
- A team player who can easily and effectively work with a range of other roles.
- Experience of developing strategic partnerships and delivering contracts.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety.
Full driving licence essential.
