Geldards LLP is a leading regional law firm with offices in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. We are currently recruiting for a Legal Administrator to join our Corporate team in our Cardiff office.
In this role you will be key player in the Corporate team in Cardiff, primarily providing comprehensive administrative assistance to Partners and other fee earners in the department. There is scope for the right person to develop within the role and take on additional Paralegal-level responsibilities dealing with all aspects of corporate work.
**Principal accountabilities include**:
- Carrying out office administration including: typing, creating, amending, formatting, scanning and copying documents, opening /closing files and archiving original documents using case management system;
- Liaising with clients and handling queries;
- Receive and sort internal and external mail
- Maintenance of files, ensuring all paperwork is filed accurately and in a timely fashion;
- Requesting files and documents from storage;
- Arranging meetings as requested including, equipment and catering;
- Supporting with Bighand and pick up Bighand overflow at busy times;
- To deal courteously and promptly with colleagues in relation to any instructions or queries arising;
- Any other reasonable duties as required by a Partner to ensure the smooth running of the team and firm.
**Additional Responsibilities**:
- Providing paralegal support on corporate transactions including: document production and managing due diligence exercises;
- Assisting with post-completion administration including: collating bundles of documents; submitting Companies House forms;
- Carrying out legal research;
- Supporting marketing and business development activity within the team, for example, attending client review meetings, marketing events and client training.
- Complying with the Firm’s internal processes on time recording, billing, credit control and compliance.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- A law degree is highly desirable but other relevant qualifications, including experience working in a legal role, may be acceptable if you can demonstrate the required skills;
- Ability to work in a cross functional manner as is necessary to meet the Firms’ goals;
- To be well turned out and presentable in order to be client facing should the need arise (for example, collecting ID for copying and witnessing documents);
- Strong client care skills with the ability to project a professional image and deal confidently with clients;
- Excellent communication skills - dealing with telephone clients in a courteous, friendly, personable, helpful and professional manner;
- Good project management and organization skills, which include the ability to prioritise work to meet strict deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Self
- motivated and able to use own initiative;
- Good keyboard and IT skills.
