Kingsbrook School is a specialist independent provision for 11-18 year olds with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and complex learning needs. Many of the students who attend Kingsbrook School have had adverse childhood experiences resulting in attachment difficulties and trauma. We have a therapy team onsite and a high staff to student ratio to ensure the attachment needs of the students are met. Classes are small in numbers and all classes have a nurture group ethos to include a consistent teacher and support staff to emulate a ‘family environment’.

There is an emphasis upon being part of the school community and the extensive grounds, with an array of indoor and outdoor animals, facilitate the community approach with each student involved with the care of the animals. An excellent understanding of working with young people who have mental health difficulties and understand attachment needs within students is desirable.
