**Java Software Engineer - Leeds (Hybrid remote) £50k - £55k per annum** This is an excellent opportunity to **work with Java 17, learn Kotlin,** and gain experience in the digital broadcasting industry. Offering hybrid remote working with **2-3 days _a month_ in the Leeds office**, this position is paying between**£50k and £55k per annum** THE COMPANY: The country's largest commercial broadcaster who holds one of the UK's leading digital portfolios, and is the top competitor to Sky and the BBC. THE ROLE: You will be joining a team of developers who focus on the systems that handle the "supply chain" for all the broadcaster's digital content. These are composed of three main areas, Metadata, Assets and Content Acquisition and Planning. Each of the teams work with a **high degree of autonomy** and has the freedom to **choose their preferred IDE and development methodology.** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Take part in system design and collaborate with other engineers and teams. - Ensure a high level of quality, usability, and maintainability of the systems. - Proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or other areas of concerns. - Participate in design and code reviews. - Collaborate with other product teams to ensure good cross-product cooperation. MAIN REQUIREMENTS: - Prior experience as Java software engineer working with Java 8 and above. - Knowledge of either Spring or Spring Boot. - Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills. - Familiarity with large system software design and development. - Solid understanding of engineering best practices. - Experience of building and maintaining quality, standardised, RESTful APIs, and a good knowledge of Microservices architecture. **IND_PC1** Carbon60, Lorien, SRG - the Impellam Group STEM Portfolio is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
