**The Role & Responsibilities**
- The IBDM will work directly with our broker partners and business development managers to proactively drive business levels and service standards
- IBDM’s will also have responsibility for broker partner training, contact to attract new business, facilitating the addition of new broker partners to our panel, and driving forward broker packaging quality
- They also work with the Senior Relationship Support Manager to develop the sales desk team and provide leadership to more junior colleagues
- The role is primarily based in Head Office, though there may be a requirement for travel on occasion
- Principal responsibility for supporting allocated broker partners and introducers with any new business enquiries
- Filtering and assessing any direct client enquiries, being able to obtain information from direct clients and quickly identify any opportunity to lend
- Liaising with existing Shawbrook clients to discuss our product range, driving retention and new business
- Clearly communicate with broker partners, covering different scenarios to assist with positioning cases for Shawbrook, including chasing-up cases identified as having good potential
- Working closely with partnered BDMs to assist with any tasks required to win new deals for Shawbrook
- Support with the training and development of new brokers when using our portal and online resources
- Having a thorough understanding of our products and criteria, able to quickly understand the strengths and weaknesses of a case. Formulate a rationale for cases and communicate findings to underwriters for consideration
**The Person**
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
- A good understanding of the commercial mortgage sector
- An excellent understanding of mortgages and the financial services market
- Must have experience in a telephone-based role
- Seasoned experience in dealing with customers and introducers and providing them with high levels of customer service
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
- Good working knowledge of the commercial underwriting and support process.
- Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel, Word, Power-Point)
- Knowledge of TCF
- Good knowledge of compliance procedures with the mortgage industry
- Able to read and understand financial accounts, valuations, business appraisals and credit searches
- Understanding of the different funding options open to business clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
