Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Merton

Are you looking to make a positive influence of on a young person's life this year?

A mainstream secondary school in Merton seek a Teaching Assistant to work with small groups of students or on a 1:1 basis, who have mild learning needs including autism and ADHD. The school have a specialist SEN unit in the school but they integrate thestudents in the mainstream classrooms too.

The school is rated Good by OFSTED and creates a dynamic and positive environment, both for the students and members of staff. They thrive in a culture of success and have a sports specialism.

Experience working with secondary aged students is essential and experience working with ADHD or Autism would be advantageous.

Duties will include:

- Working closely with pupils in groups or 1:1, maintaining and improving the social, emotional, physical and learning needs for pupils.
- The ideal LSA will be able to tailor their approach in regards to communication, engagement, and distraction techniques to optimise learning and maximise comfort.
- Encourage and facilitate the learning needs of the students and help them to thrive and achieve.
