Your role is to ensure that officer and staff payroll records are accurately maintained. You will be responsible for providing advice and support to a workforce of over 11,000 employees.

As a Payroll & Pensions Officer, you'll be driving efficiency and accuracy in payroll and pensions operations. The ability to handle stressful situations within the fast-paced pressurised environment is crucial for this role. Your remit is to provide a consistent, customer-focused payroll and pensions function. Your day-to-day activities will include ensuring payroll and pensions compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

The Key Requirements...
- Minimum of 4 GCSE passes or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- Has good knowledge gained through experience in a payroll and pensions environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - particularly Excel but also Outlook and Word.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of customer service practices and principles.
- Excellent data entry and typing skills.
- Ability to deal with a high-pressure environment with experience of meeting deadlines.
- Enthusiastic and committed to supporting our customers and colleagues, to ensure we pay officers and staff accurately and on time.

As a Payroll & Pensions Officer, you are professional and committed. Have excellent customer service, teamwork, organisational skills, and a friendly personality. You would enjoy explaining technical payroll and pensions issues regarding HMRC PAYE & Benefits to quickly resolve payroll and pensions queries. This is a varied, and demanding role which requires strong negotiating skills. Your remit would be to provide a consistent, customer-focused payroll and pensions function ensuring an appropriate and responsive service and guidance to internal and external customers in line with General Data Protection Regulations.

In this role you will handle demanding situations with experience of meeting firm deadlines. You will be delivering an efficient and effective customer-focused payroll and pensions function, ensuring an appropriate and responsive service which complies with HMRC & Pension Regulations, Force Policy, and stringent deadlines.
