Are you looking for meaningful and rewarding work with a company that offers a great benefits package?
It is a great time to become a Support Assistant and work in one of Estuary's Mental Health supported living services. We are currently recruiting for two Support Assistants for one of our homes in Benfleet, both on a full-time basis (37.5 hours). There is the option of additional hours (and sleep ins at some of our services) available.
The role is to support individuals with enduring mental health conditions. There will be a focus on providing support to individuals, with the aim of maintaining and providing responsive and effective support with those with complex needs. You will assist with developing skills and independence and community involvement. Proven history working in a mental health environment is desirable but a keen interest or skills and aptitude for this role will also be considered.
There will be variety in your role alongside excellent training and progression opportunities too.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- To provide person centred support to people with all aspects of their daily living including but not limited to personal care and involvement in the community;
- To maintain records of support provided and to actively contribute to support planning and periodic reviews;
- To positively contribute to our values of Respect, One Estuary, Accountable & Responsible.
- To be able to actively participate and contribute to providing a 24-hour service that is caring, safe and responsive to the needs of the people we support in an effective and well led manner;
- To develop and maintain effective professional relationships with service users and other key stakeholders such as family, friends and advocates;
- To take responsibility for shift leading as per the rota in operation;
- To actively participate in regular team meetings, supervisions and other meetings.
Full training will be provided, someone new to the sector can fulfil this role following a successful interview, we will then support the successful applicant to complete the Care Certificate within their probation.
Our services do require 24-hour support and staff are expected to work bank holidays and weekends to meet the needs of the people we support. In return for your commitment, we offer an excellent benefits package, including a cash health plan which supports your everyday wellbeing. We also offer 31 days holiday (inclusive of bank holiday allowance) and an additional day for Birthday leave and our competitive pension scheme.
