Corporate Governance Officer required by North Bristol NHS Trust, one of the largest hospital trusts in the UK. You’ll work within the Corporate Governance team based in Trust Headquarters with a salary from £27,055 to £32,934 and a range of NHS benefits, starting on 27 days AL + bank holidays and an excellent pension.

The role is based at the Trust’s Southmead Hospital site, with opportunity for some flexible working.

**THE ROLE**: As Corporate Governance Officer, you will act as the interface between Executive Directors, Trust Board and Committee meetings and the rest of the hospital. Your duties will include:

- Providing a professional and high-quality administrative service that ensures the effective and efficient running of the Trust Board Sub-Committees and the Trust Leadership Team.
- Acting as Secretary for meetings, drafting agendas, collating papers, and producing comprehensive formal minutes.
- Coordinating the identification and recording of actions and supporting the senior Directors to take them forward to timely completion.
- Experience of providing administrative support at a high level, with a particularly keen eye for detail
- Strong minute-taking skills
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- The ability and confidence to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders to build effective relationships both within and outside of the organisation

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Governance Officer & Policy Manager, the post holder will work as part of the Corporate Governance Team, providing administrative support to Board and Committee meetings and supporting the corporate governance processes of the Trust.

The post holder will provide pro-active, responsive and technical support to the Corporate Governance Team. This will include:
Supporting the team to achieve its objectives;
- Making informed decisions within areas of responsibility, ensuring that agreed standards and targets are met in accordance with Directorate, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures; managing specific projects for the Corporate Governance Team;
- Attending meetings on behalf of the Corporate Governance Team and the preparation of reporting papers;
- Proposing, establishing and maintaining procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust including registers, assurance frameworks and corporate risk management.

This role provides high-level administration to provide assurance that the Trust is adequately prepared to comply, and is able to secure ongoing compliance, with the legislative and regulatory framework outlined for NHS Trusts.

The post holder will have exceptional minute-taking, IT and organisational skills with the ability to support the team in an extremely busy and demanding role. This will involve working to tight deadlines and the ability to manage conflicting demands whilst displaying excellent customer service.

The post holder will liaise daily with Executive Directors, Non-Executive Directors, Clinical Directors and external stakeholders. They will need to be articulate, personable, confident and professional, able to forge relationships with individuals at all levels.

Working within this highly pressurised environment where priorities shift constantly, the post holder must be highly motivated and robust with the ability to respond to last minute changes and make swift, sound decisions and re-prioritise rigorously.
