**About the Job**
**Salary**: £41,591 to £44,624 per annum with the addition of 18% enhancement on top of annum salary.
**Working Pattern**: Full time (37 hours per week) with the requirement for rolling rota participation
**Contract Length**:Permanent
**Location**: Bridge House, Worthing with requirement to work countywide
We're looking for Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to work across West Sussex.
The Hub will consist of a Team Manager and two Hub AMHPs who work 9am-5pm and AMHPs who work on an 8 week rolling rota, over a 24hr period. Shifts will typically be early (7am to 3pm), late (2pm to 10pm) and some weekends and bank holidays. Night Shiftsare specifically undertaken by a Nights only AMHP.
**As an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will**:
- Work as part of a strong and dynamic social work service with clear professional leadership.
- Deliver a timely, responsive, and legally compliant intervention, following requests for Mental Health Act assessment.
- Utilise your skills to develop and implement effective plans of support aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering better outcomes for people. as well as contributing to and developing skills in safeguarding.

**Experience and Skills**
**Key Skills**:
- To demonstrate the ability to utilise effective communication skills to negotiate, guide, advise and enable customers to engage with assessments and discussion about their presenting care needs
- To demonstrate the ability to communicate with a range of professionals and members of the public.
- To demonstrate the ability to think creatively under pressure, measured and reasoned in response and decision.
- To demonstrate an ability to lead supervise, coach and mentor other members of the team
- To have the ability to manage conflict and operate in high risk and high-pressure environments
- To be able to uphold social work values of social justice and equality.
- To demonstrate effective and accurate IT skills to support accurate and timely case recording.
**Qualifications and/or experience**:
- Registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist)
- Currently authorised as an AMHP (Post-Grad Certificate in Mental Health)
- Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children Act and other relevant case law
- Valid driving licence
- Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments Essential
- Extensive experience of working in multi-disciplinary settings. Desirable
- Experience as an AMHP with extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act and mental health social work practice
- Practice Educator Award or commitment to undertake the training (or equivalent)
- Able to demonstrate a proven ability (or understanding of the skills and knowledge required) to work independently as a senior practitioner managing risks and safeguarding
