Hanham Health are seeking to appoint a professional, organised and enthusiastic Site Supervisor who will be responsible for maintenance, security and the health & safety of patients and staff across Hanham Health sites including Hanham and Oldland. Visits to our Almondsbury surgery will be required on an arrangement basis.

Desirable - NEBOSH National General Certificate / IOSH Managing Safely

Hours: 30 hours per week (hours to be discussed).

Location/Base: Hanham Surgery / Oldland Common Surgery / Almondsbury Surgery

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth day to day running of the organisation regarding maintenance, security and front of house, in line with agreed procedures and protocols.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Handy person experience
- Caretaking/cleaning/ site supervision in a health care setting or similar environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Awareness of policies and procedures regarding Information Governance and adherence to these.
- HSW regulation knowledge - Preferably NEBOSH National General Certificate / IOSH

- Ability to use own initiative within clear boundaries, seeking advice from more senior members of staff whenever necessary.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently and professionally over the telephone and face to face with a variety of clinical staff, non-clinical staff, external parties and patients.

- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Ability to create and maintain an orderly and productive working environment.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

General
- Opening premises each day and closing where necessary
- Ensure premises are clean, secure and maintained. Record any defects and rectify / report where necessary.
- Conduct regular security checks and identify security risks by means of risk assessment.
- Operate and respond to alarm systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of all premises including fittings, furniture, lighting, grounds etc. to assess for minor work repairs.
- Undertake appropriate repairs and improvement work as agreed with the management team.
- Organise and carry out minor decoration programme as agreed with the management team.
- Ensure all aspects of our Facilities Management contract are being completed to agreed timescales
- Operation and maintenance of heating plant and lighting systems.
- To oversee and monitor the electrical testing of portable electrical appliances and to maintain the appropriate records.
- Undertake cleaning duties such as graffiti removal and litter picking.
- Keep car parks and pathways free of hazards (ice, snow etc.)
- Co-ordinate deliveries to site
- Liaise with contractors, obtaining quotes where necessary, ensuring work is completed to required standard and within regulation.
- Be the primary point of contact for the contracted cleaning teams and ensure cleaning standards are in accordance with site specification.
- Advise on matters relating to energy control and conservation and associated cost savings.
- Deal with spillages, overflows and drainage problems that may occur.
- Transport items between sites if appropriate.
- Monitor, order and manage stock within an agreed budget recording all expenditure.
- Assist with budget planning relating to planned work required.
- Manage an equipment inventory.
- To undertake any other reasonable request made by the partners / management team.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are observed and assist in the development of

Health and safety related policies.
- Conduct audits of all premises and assist in the development and review of associated risk assessments.
- Monitor fire safety equipment, co-ordinate fire evacuation drills and fire marshal meetings.
- Take responsibility for the implementation of all COSHH requirements.
- Ensure safe use by self and others of equipment and materials.
- Provide appropriate, site specific Health and safety training for staff to compliment the e
- learning programme. Ensure all new joiners receive a Health and safety induction including DSE assessment.
