**We Are**:
International Racecourse Management Limited (IRM) is a management company which operates four Yorkshire racecourses, namely Catterick, Redcar, Thirsk and Wetherby. We are now recruiting for a Bookkeeper/Accountant (Part Time), to be based at Thirsk Racecourse, Thirsk, N.Yorks, YO7 1QL.

Thirsk Racecourse stages flat racing from April to September with around 16 fixtures per annum; alongside a year-round schedule of non-racing events and other activities.

**The Role**:
The role requires a commitment of 21 hours per week, averaged over the course of a year. Delivery of the hours can be flexible, depending upon your own circumstances and the workload at any given time - noting that the job is busier during the race season than the off season. The role does, however, require your mandatory attendance at all race meetings, including those racedays falling on weekends.

**Duties include**:

- Posting supplier invoices, BACS payments, bank and petty cash reconciliation, generation of sales invoices, credit control, ad-hoc analysis work, race meeting reporting, monthly and weekly payroll, management of the Nest pension scheme, assisting with budgets and management accounts.
- Race day attendance reporting, float ordering, cash control and reconciliation.
- Assisting with the management and administration of the casual Raceday Staff workforce.
- Dealing with all day to day financial enquiries.
- Answering the phone and dealing with customers alongside the rest of the management team.

**You**:

- Work independently to achieve deadlines; but also work effectively as part of small team who all support one another as needed.
- Effectively organise and execute their own workload.
- Communicate well with customers and colleagues, both in writing and verbally.
- Remain calm under pressure (especially on busy racedays).
- Demonstrate a good sense of humour

On offer is a flexible (part-time) employment opportunity, and a salary of **£17,000+** (with benefits) dependent upon your experience and qualifications.
